In an effort to be close to her son, Marcus, while he was in school, she would substitute teach at St. Louis Catholic School until she moved to San Antonio in 2001.

While in San Antonio, she began a new career in the funeral industry. After graduating from San Antonio College she served her apprenticeship with the Mission Parks funeral homes and remained there for many years. She joined the OakCrest Funeral Home staff in 2015.  Entrusting their loved ones to her care, Wendy feels, is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon her. She enjoys getting to know her families and assisting them during such difficult times. She also feels very blessed to be a part of such a compassionate group of individuals who recognize the importance of helping people.
