Jim, better known as Dr. Mo, started in the Funeral Service Profession 50 years ago. Dr. Mo, a licensed Funeral Director, is Managing Partner of OakCrest Funeral Home. He has served as the President since 1996 of Higginbotham Funeral Homes of Texas, Inc., primarily a family-owned corporation established in 1881 and based in Waco, with 12 Central Texas locations. This includes Grace Gardens and Pecan Grove in Waco, Marshall & Marshall in Hillsboro, Marshall & Marshall in Whitney, and the Clifton Funeral Home.
Dr. Mo has lived in Waco for the past 40 years, and has taught in the Business School at Baylor University for over 24 years. The Athletic Department has named him Outstanding Professor for several years.
Dr. Mo's dedication to helping others has been reflected in his many multi-career successes and his active involvement in Waco community organizations and church life:

Wendy was born in southern Illinois and spent part of her childhood there and part in the east Texas town of Jasper. She graduated from Jasper High School and attended Angelina College and Stephen F. Austin State University earning a degree in Science Education. After graduation from college in 1987, she moved to Waco to be close to her parents who had recently moved to the area. While in Jasper, she began a career in radio and continued that line of work in Waco at radio stations KNFO, KJNE and KWTX- FM 97. In 1989, Wendy married Marc Wall, part of the former Kendrick Tire Company family, that used to be located on Franklin Ave. and in 1992, she decided to concentrate on starting a family and left the communications field. In an effort to be close to her son, Marcus, while he was in school, she would substitute teach at St. Louis Catholic School until she moved to San Antonio in 2001.
While in San Antonio, she began a new career in the funeral industry. After graduating from San Antonio College she served her apprenticeship with the Mission Parks funeral homes and remained there for many years. She joined the OakCrest Funeral Home staff in 2015. Entrusting their loved ones to her care, Wendy feels, is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon her. She enjoys getting to know her families and assisting them during such difficult times. She also feels very blessed to be a part of such a compassionate group of individuals who recognize the importance of helping people.
Wendy is a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She and her husband Marc have two sons, Marcus, who went to be with the Lord in 2004 and Mikey, an active and very funny little boy. She enjoys gardening, movies, traveling and spending time with her family.

Vidal was born in Waco, and attended Waco schools, graduating from University High School. He is very active in the Waco-McLennan County community, serving on many boards and commission. Vidal is an active member of the Knights of Columbus, serving on local and district levels, L.U.LA.C council 273, Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, St. Louis School Advisory Board. Vidal is a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. He is fluent in Spanish and the Spanish Culture, as well as an international speaker and Master of Ceremonies. He graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Science, for several years was a director at Wilkerson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home and is now a funeral Director with OakCrest Funeral Home. To meet the needs of the families and exceed their expectations, by providing a funeral service, memorial service or tribute that is personalized to reflect the life of the deceased, is Vidal’s promise to each family he serves. |

Glenda is a managing partner at OakCrest Funeral Home and the Corporate Secretary/Treasurer of Higginbotham Funeral Homes of TX, Inc. She is the Office Manager at OakCrest and the Accounts Receivable manager for the company.
Glenda earned her Bachelors degree in Sociology from Baylor University in 1975 and spent the next 25 years raising her two boys, Jason and Ryan, and volunteering for school, scouts, soccer and community events including the Junior League of Waco, Historic Waco Foundation and The Art Center. She is a member of Lake Shore Baptist Church and enjoys antiquing, pottery, traveling, hosting family events and spending time with her five cherished grandchildren.

Brenda is the receptionist and media specialist for OakCrest Funeral Home. She is the face of OakCrest and serves our families with genuine care and concern. She creates your memorial folders and video tributes and most importantly she is the person to assist you when you come through our doors.
Brenda graduated from Plainview High School and relocated to Waco four years ago. She has two children, Jennifer and Dylan. She enjoys crafting, antiquing and traveling.

For over three decades, Chaplain Curtis Holland has been helping countless Waco families cope with the loss of a loved one, 27 of those years as Director of Pastoral Counseling at Hillcrest Hospital.
He is widely known and respected as "Waco's pastor", and OakCrest Funeral Home is proud to have him on our staff now. Curtis serves as our Family Chaplain and a licensed Pre-Need Counselor.
